Befriending for Wellbeing
The Befriending for Wellbeing scheme provides a voluntary befriending service for adults in our community who are struggling with their mental wellbeing.
Bereavement is a journey to be travelled and not an illness to be cured or a problem to be solved.
We are offering a six-week Hope Again programme which is open to all who are living with loss.
Mental Wellbeing Initiative
Recognising the need to improve our mental wellbeing, a project is underway to make Histon and Impington a mental health friendly community.
We have recently recruited a Mental Wellbeing Worker, Sefanit Inquai to take the project into its second year
Merger with Friends of the Rec
HICOM and Friends of the Rec are two well-established village charities. Initially set up with specific aims to benefit the local community in quite different ways, they have, in recent years, each become more involved in providing activities and services to improve the general wellbeing of people in our villages.
Today the charities share common aims and work closely together in several areas and are planning to combine their activities and in a new charity – Friends of Histon and Impington Community.
We have recently set up an online donations service if you would like to contribute to supporting the work of HICOM
