Charity Communications Worker

This part time role is to support the work of the charity by establishing and developing good communications with the community of Histon and Impington.  The Friends of Histon and Impington Community charity will combine the work of Histon and Impington Community (HICOM) and the Friends of Histon & Impington Recreation (Friends of the Rec) and plans to start operating from 1st January 2020.

The new charity will provide a wide range of activities to promote social inclusion, including the operation of the community minibus, and aims to improve the general and mental wellbeing of members of our community by raising awareness and providing activities, facilities and opportunities for recreation. The charity will also fundraise to help improve community recreational facilities.

The Charity Communications Worker will work alongside members of the wellbeing team to make sure that the messages they wish to promote are delivered effectively. They will also work with the wellbeing team and Activities committee to encourage members of the community get to know about and engage with the different programmes on offer such as the Worry Tree Café and Rec Sunshine club. They will also support the promotion of major events the charity organises such as the Bonfire Burn 10k.
